Na noite deste domingo (30/8), aconteceu em Nova York (EUA) a edição 2020 do Video Music Awards, tradicional premiação da música norte-americana promovida pela MTV. Este ano, como você viu aqui, o evento foi um pouco diferente, uma tentativa de respeitar as medidas de distanciamento social propostas para combater o novo coronavírus.

O VMA 2020 contou com shows bastante esperados, como Ariana Grande e Lady Gaga cantando Rain on Me, Miley Cyrus apresentando Midnight Sky e o BTS mostrando todo seu talento com Dynamite. A atriz Keke Palmer comandou a noite.

Entre os vencedores, o destaque foi para Gaga, que levou troféus importantes como artista do ano, música do ano (pelo hit com Ariana) – e ainda foi homenageada com o MTV Tricon Awards. O principal prêmio, de clipe do ano, ficou com The Weeknd por Blinding Lights. Vale lembrar que duas novas categorias foram acrescentadas em 2020: melhor clipe feito em casa e melhor performance na quarentena.
